Kurt and Larry are joined by TR historian and avid birder, Duane Jundt to discuss TR's lifelong fascination with birds.

As mentioned in this episode, Sir Edward Grey guided TR in a day-long birding excursion along the Itchen River valley and through the New Forest in Hampshire, Southern England on 9 June 1910.  Following his return to Sagamore Hill, TR inscribed a treasured book in his personal collection, Birds and Poets written by naturalist friend, John Burroughs, to his new birding friend, Sir Edward Grey. A friend of the podcast provided these photos of the inscribed volume from a private collection - Enjoy!
